The new season of the reality show "Survivor" includes a 34-year-old emergency room doctor who practices in Minnetonka.
Dr. Peter Baggenstos is among the competitors on a Cambodian island who have been divided into three teams for a contest between brains, beauty, and brawn. (He's one of the brains.)
Inside Survivor says Baggenstos is originally from Montanta and was born to a Jamaican mother and a Swiss father.
The doctor seems to have no shortage of confidence in his ability to survive the rigors of the show. According to WCCO, Baggenstos said:
“I’m the best person out here to get the million for numerous reasons — I’m an athletic threat, I’m educated, I can do a puzzle better than anyone else out there, I’ve got a good sense of self, but I also have a slightly inflated ego and narcisism."
Actually, Buggenstos already knows if he won the million dollar prize.
HNGN reports this 32nd season of Survivor was filmed between March and May of last year. The website says the climate conditions in Cambodia were some of the worst Survivor has seen and three people had to be evacuated from the island for health reasons.
Inside Survivor says Dr. Baggenstos' teammates on the brainy squad include a social media manager, a chemist, a Wall Street strategist, a retired FBI agent, and the CEO of an ice cream company.
The season begins on Feb. 17 on CBS.
