WCCO-TV hires Excelsior native as new reporter

A Minnesota native has joined WCCO-TV as a reporter, the Pioneer Press reports.

Kate Raddatz, who is from Excelsior, will begin with the station April 1.

At WCCO, Raddatz was an intern for reporter-anchor Jason DeRusha's "Good Question" segment, and she also interned as a multimedia journalist at the Pioneer Press.

Raddatz also was a reporter for the Minnesota Daily at the University of Minnesota.

She was most recently a news reporter for WBAY-TV, an ABC affiliate in Green Bay, Wis.

Raddatz told the Pioneer Press that telling stories in her hometown is something she's "always wanted to do," and being able to do that "for the station I grew up watching, along with such an incredible team, is just the icing on the cake."

WCCO-TV hires new weekend anchor/reporter

Edward Moody is moving back to Minnesota to join the CBS-affiliate as a weekend anchor/reporter. The Pioneer Press reports he will anchor the Saturday evening newscasts with Liz Collin. Moody, who comes to WCCO from the Fox-affiliate in Indianapolis, will make his Twin Cities debut on Friday, Aug. 24. Moody has also worked in Duluth as a morning anchor.
