First Brothers, now another St. Cloud bar is shutting its doors

The two bars are just a block apart in downtown St. Cloud.

Just over a week after Brothers Bar & Grill in St. Cloud shut its doors, another popular Granite City bar has closed unexpectedly.

According to the St. Cloud Times, D.B. Searle's in downtown St. Cloud served its final customers on Wednesday, with employees being notified of the closure the next day.

"D.B. Searle's played as big of a part in my college years as the textbooks did," former BMTNer Declan Goff said. "From Hi-Ho Silvers night, to Wednesday night beer pong and to my recovery on Sundays, DBs is a true St. Cloud treasure, and it will surely be missed."

KNSI and the Times report that Searle's is being sold to Inventure Properties, the same group that's replacing Brothers Bar & Grill in St. Cloud with a restaurant that will serve "grown-up food."

It's unclear what Inventure Properties will do with D.B. Searle's.

Brothers and Searle's are both located on 5th Street in St. Cloud, just one block apart.
