Former wrestler Buck Zumhofe found guilty of sex charges

The former wrestler who performed under the name "Buck Rock 'N' Roll" Zumhofe has been found guilty of 12 counts of criminal sexual conduct, Forum News Service reports.

A Kandiyohi County jury returned the verdict in the case against Eugene Otto Zumhofe Wednesday. Zumhofe, 62, of Cyrus, was found guilty of six first-degree charges of criminal sexual conduct and six third-degree charges.

Forum News Service says Zumhofe was accused of criminal sexual conduct with a close, female relative during a span of 12 years – beginning when the victim was 15 years old and living with him in New London. Zumhofe reportedly testified on his own behalf Tuesday.

The victim is now 29.

The blog Wrestling News Source says Zumhofe attempted to flee the courtroom after the verdict, but was tackled and restrained by police officers.

The defense and prosecutors were expected to each present arguments in court Thursday to determine whether aggravating factors could lead to more prison time for Zumhofe than the suggested sentencing guidelines. says Zumhofe will be sentenced May 8.

Zumhofe was charged with 12 felony counts of criminal sexual conduct in May and pleaded not guilty to the charges in July.

The former wrestler's bid in February to delay the trial was denied.
