Events remembering the late Philando Castile will continue into this weekend, with a music and dance fundraiser due to be held in Minneapolis on Sunday.
It's being pitched as a "night of music, dance, meditation and community" and will be available to all ages, with a donation ($10 suggested) at the door.
Sunday's benefit will feature a "cross section of Minnesota music" with performances by: PaviElle, Mina Moore, ZULUZULUU, BDP (from Nooky Jones frontman Cameron Kinghorn), Fort Wilson Riot, Eric Mayson, Rich Garvey, Manny Phesto, Prizm, Nsikak, Tony the Scribe, Lydia Liza, and Nathan Ejuwa.
Also promised are "surprise guest" performing more music, spoken word poetry, and dance.
Castile's funeral was held at the Cathedral of St. Paul on Thursday, eight days after he was shot and killed by a police officer during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights.
Money raised from event will go to the family of Philando Castile, who will be on hand to make a statement and accept the donations.
There has been some question over the legitimacy of fundraising drives set up in the wake of Castile's death, with the Star Tribune saying four different GoFundMe accounts had raised $300,000 between them.
The biggest account as of Tuesday had raised $187,500 and had been started by a person in California, but he told the newspaper that the sole recipient of the money will be Castile's mother Valeria.
