A huge bundle of holiday cheer is expected in Cottage Grove Saturday when the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolls through with country rock star Sheryl Crow.

The Pioneer Press said officials are expecting 20,000 people to attend the event, which is set to take place at the Cottage Grove Rail Yard, located at 9250 Ideal Ave.

The gates to the rail yard's North Pole Station will open at 4 p.m. and the music is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m.

Opening for Crow are Willy Porter and the Claytones, and Take 6. The music is expected to wrap up at about 7 p.m.

The train annually rolls across the U.S. and Canada to raise money for local food shelves. This year the funds raised at the event will go to help the Friends in Need Food Shelf in St. Paul Park.

About $100,000 was raised at the Cottage Grove stop last year, a Canadian Pacific Official said.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is a 14-car train illuminated with thousands of lights. During its stops, children are invited to board the train and meet Santa Claus.

This season, the holiday train was scheduled to stop in eight states and 26 Minnesota cities in all, according to the Star Tribune.

The paper has parking information for the event.
