There will be one fewer Granite City Bar and Restaurant locations by the end of this month, with its St. Louis Park location set to close.
An employee confirmed to GoMN that the restaurant 5500 Excelsior Blvd. in St. Louis Park will be closing on March 26.
In a statement, the company said that it decided not to renew its lease with Frauenshuh Property Management, which owns the building, after failing to come to a "mutual agreement."
It is one of five Granite City locations in Minnesota, four of which are in the Twin Cities. The others are in Eagan, Roseville, St. Cloud and Maple Grove.
The restaurant, which has been operating from Excelsior Blvd. for 11 years, employs 61 people and all have been offered positions in the locations of their choice in the metro areas.
Granite City said it will continue to "search for new real estate opportunities" within the Twin Cities as it continues to grow the company.
Since its inception in St. Cloud in 1999, Granite City has grown to 41 restaurants across 16 states, the company says.
The casual dining chain has on-site microbreweries that create a selection of Granite City-branded beers, including a pale ale, a bock, a double IPA, an American-style lager and a stout, as well as seasonal brews.
GoMN has asked the Granite City head office for comment, but has so far not heard back.
