Hastings couple does 'Dirty Dancing' routine live on 'GMA'

Hastings newlyweds Drake and Terra Otto got to bring a bit of "Dirty Dancing" to "Good Morning America" in New York City Friday morning, KSTP-TV reports.

The ABC morning show invited the couple to re-create part of their dance inspired by the 1987 Patrick Swayze-Jennifer Grey movie after a video of their performance from their August wedding reception started to go viral this week.

"We loved the movie, we watched it growing up," Drake Otto told GMA host Lara Spencer outside the show's studio. "We just wanted to start the dance off with a bang."

"Good Morning America" arranged the help of students from the Broadway Dance Center to dance along with the couple during the segment.

Like in the viral video from their wedding, Drake Otto ended the dance to the song "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life" by hoisting Terra Otto above for the crowd to see.

The video had about 18,000 views on YouTube as of Thursday. As for Friday afternoon, it has been viewed nearly 93,000 times.

The couple came up with the idea to do the "Dirty Dance" when Drake Otto gave his then-fiancee professional dance classes as a gift prior to their wedding.

The Hastings Star Gazette says the couple kept their "Dirty Dancing" plan secret until they performed the routine at their wedding dance.
