Help build a beer-amid for the troops this weekend

A Minnesota brewery has come up with a crafty way to help military families.

Lift Bridge Brewing will attempt to build Minnesota's largest beer-amid this weekend as a fundraiser for the troops.

Yes, beer-amid. You know, like a pyramid of cans (in the pale moonlight).

The beer-amid will be made strictly out of 16 ounce cans of 93X Brotherhood, an American lager craft brew. A dollar from the purchase of every can will go to the Minnesota Military Families Foundation.

Building the beer-amid begins Friday afternoon at the Lift Bridge brewery in Stillwater. Patrons are invited to the taproom to drink $3 cans of 93X Brotherhood from 3-10 p.m. They'll also help build the base of the structure.

Then, from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, all cans consumed will go towards building the structure. There will also be live music and a food truck.

The event is free, other than all of the cans of beer you will consume in the name of America's heroes.

For more information, head to the brewery's website.

Minnesota Military Families Foundation

The foundation provides grants to Minnesota military families during times of extraordinary financial hardship, especially while soldiers are deployed. They help families with expenses like rent and mortgages, household appliances and repairs, transportation, family counseling, and medical bills.
