Skipping the mall and supporting local artisans is a snap.

There are a ton of opportunities to pick up one-of-a-kind gifts for the holidays created by local artisans. The season starts now!

A variety of artists and galleries will open their doors in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District for buying and browsing in a small scale Art-A-Whirl environment. The Minneapolis Pancakes & Booze Art Show (website) | 8 p.m.-2 a.m. on Friday, November 3 | The Cabooze

Over 70 local artists will be displaying and selling art at an upbeat evening exhibition. The night will include live musical performances, DJs, live painting, drinks and pancakes.

Nature Arts & Crafts Fair (website) | 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, November 4 | Richardson Nature Center of Three Rivers Parks

Holiday shopping event featuring art, jewelry, crafts and natural beauty products for sale from local artisans. The trails of Hyland Lake Park Reserve are just steps outside of the Richardson Nature Center, making way for an effortless post shopping hike.

The Minneapolis Craft Market and Linden Hills Farmers Market will be joining forces to bring together over 60 artisans and food vendors. The market is conveniently held near Sunnyside Gardens’ Christmas tree lot.

Hundreds of artists and vendors will sell holiday-themed items and gifts, including handmade decorations, home goods, jewelry, toys, and bath and beauty products. The event also features an array of uniquely decorated Christmas trees that will be auctioned for charity.

MCAD's 20th Annual Art Sale (website) | 6 p.m.-9 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. on Friday, November 17, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, November 18 | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

One-stop-shop for affordable artwork by emerging artists who are recent graduates or current students at Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Proceeds go directly to artists or toward the MCAD Art Sale Scholarship Fund.

MPLS Craft'za (website) | 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, and Sunday, November 19 | Grain Belt Bottling House

Sixty local artisans will sell their creations at a two-day sale. There will be a range of unique gifts for sale, including original jewelry, handcrafted beauty products and ceramic goods.

Northern Clay Center Holiday Exhibition (website) | 12 p.m.-4 p.m. on Sundays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursdays from November 19-December 31 | Northern Clay Center

Northern Clay Center artists will sell handmade ceramics for gifts or personal use. The holiday exhibition will also include a hands-on pottery workshop as well as treats and apple cider.

Local outdoor shopping event featuring artisans, farmers and food makers. The market will also include new cider releases and live music in the tap room.

Wreaths, jewelry, paintings, soaps and other crafts made by local artisans will be for sale. Festive music and holiday treats will also accompany this gift shopping event hosted by the Landmark Center.

Shop from local artisans and makers as you sip Belgian-style beers. The holiday market will also include live music performances and a gift wrapping station.
