Whether or not they were a fan of Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian, somebody is the new owner of an engagement ring from the couple's doomed marriage.
Forbes reports that the ring went for $749,000 in an auction at Christie's in New York City on Tuesday.
The auction house originally estimated the ring would go for anywhere between $300,000 to $500,000.
Forbes says Humphries, a Minneapolis native, reportedly paid $2 million for the 20.5 carat engagement ring.
Christie's only described the ring on its website as "an impressive diamond ring, by Lorraine Schwartz," with no mention of who the previous owners were. The auction house did note, however, that it was the "property of a gentleman."
A representative for Humphries, however, confirmed in a statement to E! Online that it belonged to the former Gophers basketball star and current Boston Celtics power forward.
"The ring is indeed Kris' property that he received through his marriage dissolution. He has long-since moved on and is very much looking forward to a successful auction at Christie's Tuesday," Humphries representative said.
Humphries and Kardashian's divorce was finalized in June. The couple married on Aug. 20, 2011, and Kardashian filed for divorce 72 days later.
Kardashian has since moved on to a relationship with rap star Kanye West. The couple had their first child, North West, in June.
Christie's noted in the auction listing that part of the proceeds from the auction was going to charity.
