Images show what downtown Macy's redesign might look like

The renderings appear to have been leaked.

Images of what the former downtown Minneapolis Macy's building may look like appear to have been leaked.

The design renderings for "The Dayton's Project" were recently posted to Imgur. They show a bunch of food vendors and a bowling alley on the first floor, with additional retail space on the second floor.

The drawings show a bright and open floor plan, including different outdoor spaces and patios that look out onto Nicollet Mall.

It's not clear who shared the photos, but they give credit to Gensler and Associates, which is the architect for the building's redesign.

The company confirmed the renderings were legitimate to the Star Tribune, but said they haven't yet been approved by 601W, the company that owns the building

So this may not be exactly what the space ends up looking like, but it might be close. United Properties (the local partner on the project) had previously said possible uses for the space included "entertainment, food hall, restaurants and traditional retailers."

We should know more about the project soon. The Star Tribune says a public announcement is expected later this month.

GoMN has reached out to Gensler for comment and more information on the public announcement.
