Internet Cat Video Festival gives fans purrfect show at State Fair

The Minnesota State Fair Grandstand became Kitty Land Wednesday night as nearly 10,000 cat lovers attended the Walker Art Center's 2013 Internet Cat Video Festival, the Pioneer Press reports.

The show, which attracted the same amount of people -- and many with their cats -- to the Walker's hillside last year, was moved to the State Fair Grandstand this year because the area was closed for work for the summer.

The move didn't stop cat lovers Wednesday night, though, even with a $10 charge as opposed to a free show last year.

Minnesota Public Radio is featuring a photo gallery of the festival.

Before a 70-minute presentation of viral cat videos from the Internet, the festival featured almost two hours of cat-related banter, including appearances of cat video sensations Grumpy Cat and Lil Bub.

Also featured was the Minnesota girl who narrated the video "Kittens Inspired by Kittens."

Comedian Julie Klausner hosted the event, but when the festival started to drag, thousands chanting "Cats! Cats! Cats!" the Pioneer Press says.
