I'd be amazed if anyone actually reads this, except maybe Eagles fans – the last thing you want to do after the Vikings lose in that fashion is read about it, right?
But write we must – because if the Miracle of Minneapolis had Vikings fans in 7th Heaven, the NFC Championship Game has put them in the Underworld where Hel's nails are forever clawing down a chalkboard.
And it all started so well. A masterful first drive ended with a touchdown courtesy of Kyle Rudolph, silencing a stadium filled with horrendous Eagles fans.
The game turned with a Case Keenum pick-6, and from then on the Vikings just couldn't get a look in.
Considering how venerated the Vikings defense were before today's game – man did they suck.
They weren't bad on 1st and 2nd downs, but stunk to high heaven on the thirds. The offense meanwhile never again reached the heights of that first drive.
To make matters worse, Minnesota now has to host the Super Bowl in its own backyard. And to make matters even more worse, the Twin Cities will be filled with Patriots and Eagles fans.
It's understandable if the entire state decided to stay indoors till it's all done with.
BUT let's try and end things on a positive note: It was an awesome 13-3 regular season, we beat the Packers twice (lol) and we had the Minneapolis Miracle – you'd have taken it on Sept. 1.
Not long to go till spring training, maybe the Twins will sign Yu Darvish to cheer us all up.
