A Twin Cities church will welcome Dr. Jill Biden as a guest speaker this Sunday afternoon.
Biden, the wife of former Vice President Joe, will talk about several causes close to her heart as part of The Sunday Series at the House of Hope Presbyterian Church at 797 Summit Ave. in St. Paul.
The event is free to attend and open to the public, and will see the former English teacher and professor talk about breast cancer prevention, supporting military families, and promoting the importance of community colleges to the country's future.
She is involved in several nonprofit groups working in these areas, including founding the Biden Breast Health Initiative, which has helped educate 10,000 high school girls about the importance of early breast cancer detection.
She also co-founded – alongside the then First Lady Michelle Obama – Joining Forces, which helps service members, veterans and their families access career, education and healthcare opportunities.
Obama appeared herself in the Twin Cities last month, giving a talk at the Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park.
It wasn't free like Biden's though, tickets started at $100.
The event will be held at the House of Hope Presbyterian Church Sanctuary from 2 p.m.
