Josh Duhamel named N.D. State Fair Parade grand marshal
"Transformers" movie trilogy star Josh Duhamel is coming home to be the grand marshal of the North Dakota State Fair Parade in July, the Minot Daily News reported.
The theme of the July 20 parade in Minot has appropriately been dubbed "Transforming North Dakota." About 70 units have been registered to take part so far.
Duhamel, 41, was born and raised in Minot and attended Minot State University, made his acting debut in the TV series "Ed" in 2002.
He starred as Captain William Lennox in "Transformers" in 2007 and reprised the role for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" in 2009 and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" in 2011.
Duhamel's other credits include "Life as We Know It" and the TV series "Vegas" from 2003-2008.
Most recently, Duhamel starred in "Safe Haven," which earned him a Teen Choice Award nomination Wednesday for Choice Actor in a Romance movie, The Wrap reports.
Duhamel is also a big Minnesota professional sports fan. Last September, he flew into Minneapolis to sound the Gjallarhorn before the Vikings game against the San Francisco 49ers.
