Kris Humphries is back in the news, but it has nothing to do with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the former University of Minnesota basketball star and NBA power forward will guest star as himself on an episode of the upcoming season of the Fox sitcom "The Mindy Project."

Humphries follows fellow NBA players Amar’e Stoudemire, Danny Granger and Baron Davis, who all shot cameos on the show in its first season.

There's no word yet on which episode Humphries will appear, but the premiere of the second season of "The Mindy Project" is Sept. 17.

The series, which stars former "Office" star Mindy Kaling, airs locally on Fox 9.

Humphries previously appeared as himself on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and "Kourtney & Kim Take New York."

Kardashian's divorce from Humphries was finalized June 3.

Humphries and the reality show personality wed on Aug. 20, 2011, and Kardashian filed for divorce 72 days later.
