Lada Gaga bringing 'Artpop' tour to Twin Cities in May

International pop star Lady Gaga is bringing her "Artpop Ball" to St. Paul next spring.

The Pioneer Press reported Tuesday that Lady Gaga's "Artrave: The Artpop Ball" tour will stop at the Xcel Energy Center on May 20.

The singer-songwriter last played Xcel Feb. 6, shortly before she called off 21 dates of her most recent tour to have hip surgery.

Local critics were lukewarm on her performance at the show.

The Star Tribune said Lady Gaga has an open date on her tour schedule May 21, which leaves open the possibility of the artist adding another show date in St. Paul.

The pop star sold out two concerts of her "Monster Ball" tour at Xcel in 2010.

The Star Tribune's Chris Riemenschneider remarked that Lady Gaga may have a hard time selling out two shows this time around, at least if her most recent album sales are any indication.

The columnist noted that her latest release, "Artpop," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Album chart with 258,000 units sold in the first week -- an amount far less than 1.1 million units sold in the first week her 2011 smash album "Fame Monster" was released.

Tickets go on sale Dec. 16 and are $202, $87, $51.50 and $37.
