Mall of America put an ugly Christmas sweater on Paul Bunyan

For the first time ever, the iconic Log Chute ride has been decorated for the holidays.

The Paul Bunyan Log Chute, arguably the most iconic ride at the Mall of America, is getting all dressed up for the holiday season.

For the first time ever, the ride has been transformed into the Yule Log Chute, an experience the mega-mall promises will exude "holiday spirit around every turn and drop."

If you've never been on the Log Chute before (we may have to revoke your Minnesota card), the ride is based on the tale of Paul Bunyan and is set in a mountain limber mill, featuring two lift hills and two drops as passengers experience singing animatronics.

It opened in 1992, making it the oldest operating ride in the park and the only original ride left from Camp Snoopy, Fandom says

From now through January 1, the inside will be decorated with fake snow, evergreens, and stockings hung with care.

And of course, the big guy is getting in on the fun. Paul Bunyan, who greets riders at the finale of the water adventure, is rocking a ginormous, one-of-a-kind, ugly holiday sweater that reads "Hey Babe."

It was created by Minnesota native and Project Runway designer, Christopher Straub.

Making a knit for the 25-foot Bunyan was no small job. MOA says the sweater weighs 30 pounds, has sleeves that are 108 inches long, and a neck that's 90 inches around.

Straub also created limited edition souvenir name pins of Paul Bunyan’s ugly sweater. The "Hey Babe" pins are on sale at the Moose Mountain Adventure Golf store on Level 3, North.

Tickets for a single ride on the Yule Log Chute are $6.90. An unlimited ride day pass to Nickelodeon Universe is $35.99.
