Midway's farewell includes one more memory from Bill Murray

Publish date:

A legendary stadium in Minnesota baseball lore is celebrating its final night tonight as the St. Paul Saints are playing their final game at Midway Stadium.

Construction is underway on the team’s new $27 million, 7,000-seat ballpark downtown, and the Saints vow to bring to the new stadium all the silly antics and affordable fun that their games are known for.

The Saints weren't short on the antics during their final night at Midway, either. Movie star Bill Murray was on hand and not just to investigate for ghosts as the storied stadium closes down.

Murray is one of the owners of the Saints, and he came to the game to take tickets from fans as they walked in and helped to create some more memories on the stadium's final night.

Here is a quick rundown on Twitter of Murray with the fans.

You can follow construction progress on a live webcam or on a project Facebook page.
