If you look around Minneapolis Thursday night, you'll probably see a lot of purple.

The Interstate 35W bridge, the Lowry Avenue Bridge, U.S. Bank Stadium, the IDS Center and Target Field will all glow purple to honor Prince ahead of the anniversary of his death, a news release says.

The Purple One died April 21, 2016, from an accidental drug overdose at Paisley Park in Chanhassen. That'll be the site of other Prince tributes, including Celebration 2017 – four days of live music, panel discussions and special presentations to highlight the singer.

Organizers of that event are encouraging other cities to join this purple tribute by lighting buildings and landmarks purple on Thursday and Friday this week.

Fans are also encouraged to wear purple on Friday to remember Prince, and upload photos to social media of their purple outfits using #PaisleyPark.
