Minnesota-born actor Steve Zahn is going to work for ABC primetime.
The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Zahn's show, "Mind Games," was one of 14 new shows that will debut on the network next season.
The Marshall native stars with Christian Slater in the series as a pair of problem-solving brothers for hire.
The pilot episode for the series was purchased by ABC in February under the title "Influence."
"Mind Games" centers on the complicated relationship between two brothers, Clark Edwards (Zahn), a bipolar genius in human psychology, and Ross Edwards (Slater), a slick ex-con. The brothers solve their clients' problems using the real science of human motivation and manipulation.
The premiere date for "Mind Games" has not yet been announced.
The 45-year-old Zahn's most recent projects include the HBO series “Treme,” and a voice role opposite William Shatner and others in the animated sci-fi adventure “Escape from Planet Earth.”
The actor, who graduated from high school in New Hope, got his big-screen start in 1994 in the Ben Stiller comedy “Reality Bites,” and in 1996, he starred as one of four members of a one-hit wonder band in the Tom Hanks’ music comedy “That Thing You Do!”
The Old Log Theater alum also has starred in such films as “You’ve Got Mail,” “Saving Silverman,” “Sahara,” “Rescue Dawn” and the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series.
