Minnesota mother gets 'Ambush Makeover' on morning TV

She paraded the results in front of hosts including John Cena.

A spring break trip to New York City turned into a national TV appearance for the Levoir family of Farmington, Minnesota.

Sarah Levoir was plucked from the crowd outside NBC's TODAY show studio on Thursday to be the recipient of a surprise "Ambush Makeover."

Joined by her husband Mike and kids Caleb, 12, Elizabeth, 11, and Grace, 9, the working mother was treated to some pampering courtesy of TODAY's makeover team, stylist Louis Licari and fashion expert Jill Martin.

She then got to parade the results in front of guest host John Cena and her family, before taking a look at her new self in the mirror.

"Shut the front door!" was her very Minnesotan reaction, before adding: "I don’t even recognize myself!”

Earlier, Mike explained why his wife was worthy of the makeover.

"She works so hard taking care of this family," he said. "She has a full-time job plus full-time taking care of these kids and does such an amazing job that she deserves to have a makeover and have something special done for her."

The family told the Pioneer Press that it was their first visit to New York.
