A Twin Cities native is coming home to do weather on Fox 9, the Pioneer Press reports.
Meteorologist Cody Matz is joining the "Fox 9 Morning News" weekend team and will contribute to newscasts during the week as well.
Matz starts with Fox 9 on June 10. He currently is the chief meteorologist for KDLT-TV is Sioux Falls, S.D.
According to his KDLT bio, Matz was born and raised in the Twin Cities, and moved to Arizona as a teenager. After finishing high school in Arizona, Matz went to Arizona State, and then transferred to Mississippi State University where he got his meteorology degree.
He joined KDLT in 2008.
Even though he moved away in his teens, Matz's heart apparently remained in Minnesota.
In his KDLT bio, Matz names the Vikings and Twins as his favorite sports teams.
