A Twin Cities comedian was on TBS's late-night show "Conan" on Wednesday.

Mary Mack, lives in Minneapolis and grew up in northern Wisconsin, brought her Midwestern charm to national TV, cracking jokes in a thick Minnesota accent and telling stories about hitting deer.

"Clarinet never came in handy for anything unless maybe like you're driving and you hit a deer and you don't have a crowbar in your trunk to put it out of its misery," she said.

Mack made sure to warm up to the Los Angeles locals though.

"I love doing shows in L.A.," the comedian said. "I was sick of people other places appreciating me for what's on the inside."

When one of her jokes got a delayed response from the audience, Mack turned to Conan O'Brien and said, "That was the worst applause break ever on this show."

That punch had Conan O'Brien cracking up and slapping his knee.

So Mack added another quick jab.

"Tall drink of water over there, huh?" she said, motioning towards Conan. Then she quickly threw in, "Andy Richter," referencing Conan's partner on the show. The crowd and host erupt into laughter.

Mack has several upcoming performances in the Midwest. You can see her schedule here.

She'll be in Minneapolis Oct. 14 and 15 for the 10,000 Laughs Festival.

According to a post on the festival's Facebook page, Mack will be headlining on Oct. 14. The next day, she'll host the Best of the Fest show at Sisyphus Brewing. She'll also be performing for the 25th anniversary of the Acme Comedy Co. on Nov. 6.
