MSP is once again the best airport for its size in North America

The Airports Council International survey puts MSP at No. 1.

The gateway to Minnesota is the best airport of its size anywhere on the continent.

That's the verdict of Airports Council International, which rated Minneapolis-St. Paul International as the best airport in North America out of those handling 25-40 million passengers.

It follows a survey of more than 600,000 passengers across 84 countries worldwide as part of the Airport Service Quality Awards, which determine the airports that rank the highest for customer experience.

It's the latest in a growing list of awards MSP Airport has won in recent years, with the airport also winning gongs for the best restrooms and being one of the best airports for on-time flights.

And it continues to win the awards even as the Metropolitan Airports Commissions continues efforts to make it even better, currently upgrading the food and shopping selection in Terminal 1.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission in fall approved a plan to boost dining options in concourses C, D and E as well as the main mall, which brings local eateries including Hi-Lo Diner, Red Cow and the Salty Tart to the terminal.
