Musicians are holding a rally outside of Orchestra Hall, on a night that is normally the largest fundraiser of the year.

WCCO TV reports that musicians have been picketing outside of Orchestra Hall and asking support from the public during the lockout. Musicians recently rejected a contract offer that was made by management.

The rejected contract would have called for a 24 percent pay cut. That would have put their salary average at about $100,000.

KSTP TV reports musicians outside are livid the event is being held during a lockout. Longtime orchestra musician, Tony Ross, told KSTP this is a "horrific disaster for the town and state."

Yesterday Gov. Mark Dayton and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak weighed in, saying that musicians and managers of Orchestra Hall needed to end their nearly year old labor dispute.

Here is a report from WCCO TV.
