Whether you're a former shredder looking to dust off the old board or a newbie inspired by this year's X Games, there's a new skateboarding class for you.

The city of Burnsville is now offering "Shred the Park for Adults," an 18-plus class for skateboarders of all experience levels.

It's alright if you're not a pro – experienced instructors from Zombie Boardshop and 3rd Lair Skatepark & Skateshop will be on hand to help class members brush up on their skills or learn new ones.

The class will be held at the Burnsville Lions Skate Park on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9-11 a.m. It's $40 to attend – which is way cheaper than the other classes offered at the park.

Participants are asked to bring their own skateboard, but if you don't have one, contact Kelly Hansen at kelly.hansen@burnsvillemn.gov or 952-895-4514 to ask about a rental.

Helmets and safety pads are strongly recommended.

The Burnsville Lions Skate Park is an 11,500 square-foot outdoor facility located at 151 Civic Center Parkway. Outside of classes, it's free to the public from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Here's what people have to say about it:
