PETA's bikini-clad Lettuce Ladies brave Minnesota cold

Author:

PETA's Lettuce Ladies stopped on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis Thursday to serve up hot cocoa and their "go vegan" message.

Wearing lettuce-looking bikinis, scarves and smiles – despite the subzero temperature – two PETA volunteers touted a message that cutting meat out of your diet is healthier, better for the environment – and animals. CityPages has the pics in this slideshow.

“Turning over a new leaf is easy,” PETA Associate Director of Campaigns Lindsay Rajt said. “With an abundance of delicious vegan choices now available, there’s never been a better time to make the switch to a kinder, gentler, healthier diet.”

For more info, the Lettuce Ladies have their own website.

Two other near-naked volunteers were on Nicollet Mall last February, in that case to protest the wearing of fur.
