Portillo's might bring its famous Chicago hot dogs and sandwiches to Minnesota

Look at that delicious Chicago-style hot dog.

If you like a good hot dog or a unique sandwich you'll want to pay attention to this.

According to a report in the Chicago Tribune, Portillo's is preparing to bring its Chicago-style dogs and famous Italian Beef sandwiches to the Twin Cities suburb of Woodbury.

While it's not official yet, the report notes that a proposal for the restaurant will go before the Woodbury planning commission and city council in early November.

And it appears the excitement is building, at least on this Facebook page dedicated to getting a Portillo's in Minnesota.

What is Portillo's?

The first Portillo's opened in 1963 in Villa Park, Illinois. Since then, it has grown into a chain of nearly 50 restaurants with more than 4,500 employees in Illinois, Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana and Wisconsin.

It's famous for Chicago-style dogs (that's yellow mustard, green relish, chopped onions, tomato slices, a pickle spear, sport peppers, and a little celery salt) and Italian Beef sandwiches, but they also serve hamburgers, fries and salad.
