Prince to play Paisley Park for first time in 4 years


Prince is coming back to Paisley Park Saturday night, and he's bringing 3rdEyeGirl and the New Power Generation with him for the show, the Star Tribune reports.

The concert will mark Prince's first concert in four years at the Chanhassen music complex.

The Purple One won't be selling advance tickets for the concert Saturday. Instead, he'll be accepting a $50 donation at the door when the facility opens at 9 p.m.

The horn-infused New Power Generation has been sending out tweets this week about its rehearsals at Paisley Park.

The Paisley Park gig will mark the third time Prince will be playing for Minnesota fans this year.

Prince first played a series of "open rehearsals" at the Dakota Bar and Grill in Minneapolis in January, and after a tour of West Coast venues in the spring, he took the stage at the Myth Live Event Center for two shows at the end of May.

Prince makes no mention of the Paisley Park concert on his Twitter account, but asked his followers Wednesday to follow the New Power Generation Twitter feed.

Also Wednesday, Prince tweeted a link to a teaser sample of the New Power Generation song, "Big City."
