Another gig for Minnesota's famed Purple One may be materializing this weekend in Texas.
The Star Tribune reports that Prince is rumored to be playing at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music showcase in Austin Saturday night.
Going on the word of unnamed sources, Prince will play at La Zona Rosa, which is a 1,300-seat venue with one of the city's best light and sound systems.
A source tells Spin magazine that Prince will have a 22-piece band and that the venue is remodeling a stage specifically for Prince.
Prince certainly has made himself quite visible lately. Following a three-night set of "open rehearsal" performances at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis in January, the legendary musician handed out the Record of the Year honor at the Grammys last month.
Then earlier this month, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer lit-up "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" with a two-song set with his new all-girl group 3rd Eye Girl.
But not all things positive came out of the Fallon performance for Prince.
The artist was criticized on places like Twitter for borrowing the prized guitar of Fallon's house band member, Kirk Douglas, then wrecking it.
