Prince's 'Purple Rain' No. 2 on Entertainment Weekly's 100 greatest albums list

Minneapolis-born music icon Prince has found a place near the top of Entertainment Weekly's list of 100 greatest albums, the Star Tribune reports.

The publication released Thursday their "greatest" lists, which covered albums, movies, TV show, novels, plays and more.

"The moment Prince sang ''Baby I'm a Star,'' he was one." EW says.

Beating out The Purple One at No. 1 was The Beatles' "Revolver."

Another top 10 entry was Minnesota music legend Bob Dylan's "Blood on the Tracks," which came in at No. 6 on the list. Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited" made No. 27.

Commenting on "Blood on the Tracks" EW says the album is "a mellow-dude detonation of anger, regret, and acceptance that features some of his most soulful singing and enduring melodies."

The recently reunited Minneapolis-based The Replacements also made the top 100, with "Let it Be" coming in at No. 62.
