Raise a glass: Detroit Lakes is getting its first pub crawl

Just in time for Halloween.

A Minnesota city in Becker County has a new reason to celebrate. Detroit Lakes, which is just east of Fargo, is getting its first ever pub crawl.

According to the Facebook page and event, the Blocktoberfest Halloween Pub Crawl will be Oct. 28. And organizers hope to make it an annual thing.

Six bars are participating: Hub 41, Brygge Taps & Tastes, Roasted, Lakeside Tavern, Zorbaz and Northside Bar.

The event starts at 6 p.m. and goes through 1 a.m. Once you've visited every bar, you'll be awarded a souvenir shirt. There will also be live music, a costume contest, and other giveaways.

"I've been down to the zombie pub crawl that they do in the Cities, and it was a lot of fun," David Grimsley, co-owner of Hub 41, told the Detroit Lakes Tribune. "I thought it would be fun to bring something like it to Detroit Lakes."

You can buy tickets at Hub 41 and via eventbrite.com starting Friday the 13th.

The Minneapolis Zombie Pub Crawl will be Oct. 14, so you can hit up both events if you'd like.
