While no Minnesota venues are the list of The Replacements' upcoming set of reunion gigs, could fans get a small taste of it in St. Paul or Duluth next month ... through Wilco?
Among them was the Replacements' "Color Me Impressed," which included an appearance by The Replacements' bassist Tommy Stinson.
The song was described by City Pages as a longtime favorite of Wilco singer Jeff Tweedy.
Whether their Wilco will have the same trick up their sleeves for their Minnesota gigs is get to be seen. The band is touring with Minnesota music legend Bob Dylan, who is bringing his AmericanaramA Festival of Music tour to Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth July 9 and Midway Stadium in St. Paul July 10.
The reunion of the Minneapolis-based Replacements, meanwhile, is set to begin in August
Singer/songwriter Paul Westerberg and Stinson announced earlier this month that they will headline three dates of Riot Fest -- Toronto Aug. 24-25, in Chicago Sept. 13-15, and in Denver Sept. 21-22.
The show will mark The Replacements' first gigs since they quietly disbanded 22 years ago.
