'Saturday Night Live' star in Twin Cities to talk about new late-night show

Longtime "Saturday Night Live" cast member Seth Meyers was in the Twin Cities Tuesday to chat about his upcoming late-night talk show, KARE 11 reports.

Meyers was in studio with Diana Pierce and Pat Evans on "KARE 11 Today" to preview his new NBC show, which will be called "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

The "SNL Weekend Update" anchor will be taking over Jimmy Fallon's slot when Fallon replaces Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" in February.

Meyers says in the transition period from "SNL" to "Late Night," he'll do less skit writing and focus mainly on "Weekend Update."

According to NBC, Meyers' late-night program will feature a combination of monologues, comedy skits, celebrity guests and musical acts.

The Hollywood Reporter says Meyer's new show will premiere Feb. 24.
