Searching for (cheesy) love: A Packers fan dating site

Author:

Everyone has a romantic side, even if just a small one; an urge to do something nice for a significant other, maybe even cheesy.

If that last word caught your attention, don't go anywhere.

For those individuals that enjoy standing shirtless in the Sunday freezing cold rather, than long twilight walks on the beach, you now have greenbaypackerslovers.com – the dating website for Packers fans, and Packers fans only.

That's correct, a dating website for Green Bay football fans.

"Green Bay Packers fans are the most loyal fans around," the site says in its news section. "Just look at Pack's die hard fans that tackle the brutally cold winters to storm outside and cheer on the Pack Attack. At our site you can find other Packers Bakers cheeseheads looking for love. Whether you're looking for true love, a long term relationship, are marriage minded, just looking for fun or maybe even just looking for friendship ... "

The site launched in March, and when word began to spread Wednesday of its existence, sites such as Fox Sports noted it had 190 female members, 174 male members.

By Thursday morning (after plenty of press) it was up to 653 male members, 322 female. Maybe the next St. Vince and Cheese Louise will meet online (read a story about the royal couple, pictured above, on AllGreenBayPackers.com).

Fox notes, however, several members are from the Kingdom of Tonga, a remote series of islands in Polynesia.

The Pioneer Press carried a statement by Kelly Davis, the site's founder. Davis called it his site "state-of-the-art," saying users can engage in real-time chat, participate in forums, send and receive messages, send "winks," ban others from seeing your page and upload photos.

So everything you'd expect from a dating website, really.

Hey, even cheeseheads need love too, right?

If all goes well, maybe the two can Lambeau Leap into each other's arms at the alter.
