Every dog owner secretly (or not so secretly) thinks their pet is the cutest, funniest one of them all. If you're one of those people, here's your chance to show your doggie off.

A dog film festival is a new event coming to the Minneapolis Aquatennial this year. The Candid Canines Film Fest will feature videos of dogs compiled into a 40-minute film, which will be shown multiple times during the festival.

And right now the film fest is looking for submissions. Make your dog a star by sending in a video of his/her best trick, sweetest moment, or just straight up goofiness.

Here's an example of what they're looking for:

If you think your dog has what it takes, submit your video here by Thursday, June 15. The finished product will be played Thursday, July 20 from 4-9 p.m. at Target Field Station.

There will also be prizes for the best videos submitted, but those haven't been announced yet.

The dog-friendly event is being put on by Can Do Canines, a local organization dedicated to connecting people with disabilities to specially-trained dogs.

Minneapolis Aquatennial

The Minneapolis Aquatennial is the official civic celebration of the City of Minneapolis and known as the "Best Days of Summer," the website says.

The Aquatennial used to be 10 days long, but the festival will be packed into just four days this year.

Some of the biggest events of the long weekend include a huge fireworks display, a parade, and the crowning of Queen of the Lakes.

For more info about the Aquatennial, check out the festival website or Facebook page.
