Spring Cafe is up and running at Como Lakeside Pavilion
The new tenant at Como Lakeside Pavilion in St. Paul is now open for business.
The team behind the new Spring Cafe were probably hoping for better weather, but the new eatery at the pavilion opened its doors for the first time on Friday.
Under the leadership of Twin Cities restaurateur Matty O'Reilly (Republic), the cafe will be opened daily during the warm season (ha!) from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Unlike former tenant Como Dockside, which had table-service, the Spring Cafe will be a counter-service establishment that has also done away with the full service bar, instead relying on beer, wine and pre-made cocktails.
Its menu features a mixture of "grab 'n' go" salads, sandwiches, appetizers and a handful of entrees including beef brisket, chicken curry rice bowls and tacos.
The Pioneer Press notes that the indoor section of the cafe is running, with a counter outside on the pavilion due to open later in the season – presumably when we're not buried under snow.
A third counter, down by the waterfront, will also open later this summer.
