Storm fizzles, winter storm watch canceled
So much for Sunday's incoming snowstorm that was supposed to resemble the winter storm that dumped 8+ inches of snow across parts of Minnesota just five days ago.
On Friday, the winter storm watch issued by the National Weather Service on Friday afternoon has been downgraded to a winter weather advisory. Areas shaded in purple in the map below are in the advisory.
With the downgrade comes expected lower snow totals, with just 2-5 inches of snow expected within the advisory compared to projects of 6-8 inches just 24 hours ago.

The advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday.
The Twin Cities will pretty much be unscathed, with only about an inch of snow now expected.
