The snowstorm targeting much of north-central Minnesota has shifted south.
Winter Storm Warnings have been extended south of the initial warned area, now including Stearns, Sherburne, Anoka, Washington and St. Croix counties.
Most of the metro-area will receive 3-6 inches, with even more in the northern suburbs.
Cities in the warned areas can expect 5-9 inches of snow.
This is due to the snowstorm taking a hard turn south by about 75 miles, according to KARE 11's Jeff Edmondson.
The forecast for the metro-area all day Friday - and even up until nearly midnight - was for little to no snow in the southern suburbs to a few inches in the northern 'burbs.
