Cinco de Mayo is Friday, so GoMN decided to celebrate with some shots of tequila.

Check out the video above to see what we thought of some different tequilas – all of which can be found at Zipps Liquors in Minneapolis.

Now here are some tequila and Cinco de Mayo facts.

What is tequila?

Tequila is an alcohol that's made from a plant called a blue agave. And technically the plant needs to come from a specific part of Mexico and be produced there. Otherwise it's not really tequila.

Heard of Jose Cuervo?

The real life Jose Cuervo's family is considered to be the world's first tequila producer.

According to the company's website, they started selling the drink in 1795.

Where to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in MN?

If you're looking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Minnesota, you have plenty of options.

A bunch of Twin Cities restaurants will be doing something special Friday in honor of the holiday. You can learn more here and here.

St. Paul will be celebrating on Saturday, and it has a whole bunch of events planned – including a parade, performances and plenty of food.

Minneapolis will be having its own celebration on Sunday with lots of music and food.
