When Prince died, thousands of fans visited Paisley Park to place photos, signs, notes and other mementos along a chain link fence outside the property. Some of those have been saved, and will be part of a new tribute fence opening to the public on Monday.

Paisley Park will allow anybody to come on to the grounds free of charge on April 3 and April 10 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fans are invited to attach their own tributes to the new purple fence, which will be set up inside the property (in a grassy area along the north parking lot).

People who go on the Paisley Park tours can place messages as well. A staffer will be available to take photos, which can be posted on Paisley Park's Facebook page.

It's part of a month-long “Prince4Ever” celebration for the late singer, who passed away one year ago on April 21.

The Celebration

Celebration 2017 is a four day event at Paisley Park honoring the "life and legacy of Prince, as the world marks the first anniversary of his passing."

It features live music, panel discussions, and tours of Prince’s studio complex. Paisley Park says there will be an “enhanced” version of its tours for the month. The exhibition spaces will show “rarely seen video footage, audio clips and artifacts,” to help “bring a heightened sense of presence to Prince.”

Several musicians who worked closely with the singer will be there, including The Time, The Revolution, New Power Generation and 3RDEYEGIRL.

The festivities are happening April 20-23. The VIP passes – which are more than $1,000 with fees – are completely sold out. But there are some general admission passes still available (at $499).

Be part of a photo project

Organizers are also putting together a big photo tribute project they’re asking people to take part in.

Everyone who visits through the first weeks of April can get their photo taken in a “special candle-lit setting” at Paisley Park. Everyone who gets snapped will be put into a special video project that will be released online Apr. 21.
