Prince may be gone but The Revolution lives on.
Following the Purple One's untimely death in April, the band he created in the late 1970s and led to international fame in the 1980s is reuniting for two special shows.
The Revolution – Wendy, Lisa, Brownmark, Dr. Fink and Bobby Z – will pay tribute to the music legend with two performances at First Avenue on Friday and Saturday, Sept 2 and 3.
"Only by playing for you, the fans, can we be Prince’s Revolution. He gives Us 2 oneanother now, as we all start to heal and fill forever emptiness with sound. 2gether, we are The Revolution." the band said in a statement.
Former Revolution guitarist Dez Dickerson and André Cymone, Prince's childhood best friend who toured with Prince pre-Revolution, will be special guests.
"When we first spoke to The Revolution, and the conversation turned to a possible reunion, it only seemed natural to bring them to First Avenue - to bring them home," First Avenue’s General Manager, Nate Kranz, said in a news release.
Both nights of "An Evening With The Revolution" will go on sale this Friday at 11 a.m. General admission is $65 with VIP tickets, which includes early access with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, cost $99.
They last appeared at First Avenue for a benefit concert in 2012.
