Sixteen years after the original Super Troopers released, we're finally getting a first look at the sequel.
A minute-long teaser trailer for Super Troopers 2 dropped Monday, and reintroduces us to Mac, Thorny, Foster, Farva and Rabbit. Here is is – it's red band, so there's your NSFW warning (mainly for language):
It hits theaters in 2018 on 4/20, with the trailer telling you to "shave the date."
The sequel was funded with an IndieGoGo campaign. They were looking to raise about $2 million, and ended up bringing in more than $4.5 million.
One of the movie's writers/stars is Erik Stolhanske – who was born in Minneapolis in 1968, and is part of the Broken Lizard comedy team. He played Rabbit in the first film, and is reprising the role here.
The crew finished post production (lots of sound work and color correction) earlier this month.
"We couldn't be happier, and we owe a huge thanks to our fans. Without them, there would be no sequel, and we damned well know that," Broken Lizard said on its website.
