Tim McGraw among first headliners announced for Minn. State Fair

The Minnesota State Fair announced Thursday that country music superstar Tim McGraw and hit rap act Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will be among the major headliners at the grandstand this summer, the Pioneer Press reports.

In addition, the State Fair officially confirmed that synth-pop band Depeche Mode will play the grandstand Aug. 27. The group announced that it was coming to the Great Minnesota Get-Together earlier this month

McGraw returns to Minnesota following his sold-out inaugural concert gig with Kenny Chesney at Target Field in July of 2012. McGraw plays Sept. 2.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who have played the Soundset hip-hop festival in the Twin Cities for two years in a row, will take the stage Aug. 31.

Tickets for McGraw, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Depeche Mode all go on sale April 6.

Still to come is information on the annual "Happy Together Tour," which features acts from the 1960s and 70s.

Playing the State Fair on Aug. 26, the show will feature the Turtles, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap and Gary Lewis and the Playboys, as well as members of Three Dog Night and Paul Revere and the Raiders.
