Toby Keith to open State Fair; grandstand lineup finalized


Country star Toby Keith will play the grandstand on the opening night of the Minnesota State Fair on Aug. 21, fair officials announced Tuesday.

The singer known for his party anthem "Red Solo Cup" will be joined by country/rap artist Colt Ford. Tickets are $49 and $59 and go on sale at 11 a.m. June 23, at or Or call 1-800-514-3849, or go to the State Fair box office.

Keith, currently on his Shut Up and Hold On tour, promoting his "Drinks After Work" album, just played in the rain in Winsted, Minnesota, on Saturday at the Winstock Music Festival.

He last played the State Fair in 2011, the Star Tribune notes.
