NBC's "Today" show was in Thief River Falls Friday to shoot a segment on snowmobiling, the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead reports.
The crew was in town with "Today" show associate producer Brittany Haviland, a 2003 graduate of Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, who was in charge of the segment.
"Today" correspondent Sara Haines was featured in the segment, first working on the snowmobile assembly line at the Arctic Cat plant in the city, then receiving snowmobile lessons from Tucker Hibbert, an Arctic Cat-sponsored racer who's had success in ESPN's Winter X Games.
The segment will air March 5 during the show's fourth hour, featuring Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.
This is the second Minnesota-themed segment featured on the "Today" show this year.
As part of show's coverage of President Barack Obama's second Inauguration on Jan. 21, "Today" aired a segment about Obama sending a hand-written letter to people of Ely to be encased in a 50-year time capsule in the city.
