Tom Barnard, Don Shelby launch show on sports 105 The Ticket

Local talk radio giant Tom Barnard has announced another new gig, hosting a one-hour show with former WCCO TV anchor Don Shelby on the all-sports station 105 The Ticket, the Star Tribune reports.

The two will host a show from 6 to 7 p.m. on 105 FM/The Ticket, which launched its sports format in April.

Barnard already hosts KQRS’ “Morning Show." About a year ago, he launched a 4 p.m. podcast, which will now be extended from one hour to three – the last hour of which will be simulcast on The Ticket.

Culumlus Broadcasting, which owns KQRS and The Ticket, said Barnard's new show will not conflict with his job on KQ, a gig he has held for nearly 30 years, KARE 11 reports.

The Ticket can be found on the dial on several frequencies, 105.1, 105.3 and 105.7.

The Ticket is trying to get a little traction in a sports radio market dominated by KFAN, with its 328,000 listeners, and ESPN 1500, with 149,000, the Star Tribune reports.

Barnard on Monday morning on his KQRS show said that the new show on The Ticket would start today, the Pioneer Press reports.
