Train, trio of '90s hitmakers added to State Fair Grandstand

Two more concerts have been added to this summer's Minnesota State Fair Grandstand concert series, while ticket information has been announced for a third, the Pioneer Press reports.

The "Under the Sun" tour will play Aug. 23. The package tour includes alt-rockers Smash Mouth ("All Star," "Walkin' on the Sun"), Sugar Ray ("Fly," "Every Morning") and the Gin Blossoms ("Hey Jealousy," "Til I Hear it From You"). Tickets are $28.

Train, whose hits include "Drops of Jupiter" and "Hey, Soul Sister," will play the State Fair Aug. 29. Opening for the band is Michael Franti and Spearhead, who had a double platinum hit in 2009 with "Say Hey (I Love You)." Tickets are $47 and $37.

The State Fair also released ticket information for rocker Sammy Hagar's show, whose "Four Decades of Rock" tour was announced last month. Hagar will play the Grandstand Aug. 24 with Buckcherry as the opening act. Tickets are $35.

Tickets for all three shows go on sale Saturday.

Also announced as the addition of The Suburbs and Minneapolis rapper P.O.S. to the Aug. 30 MN Music-on-a-Stick show, which already includes Trampled by Turtles.

In addition, Talib Kweli and Chance the Rapper have been announced as the opening act for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis concert on Aug. 31.

Previously announced acts include include Depeche Mode, Tim McGraw and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, as well as former “Saturday Night Live” stars Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller and Kevin Nealon.

One final act is yet to be announced to fill the Grandstand's Aug. 25 date.
